After Shorewood aims to be a voice of reason amid the media hype and over-the-top 'strategies' for future planning. This recent article pretty much parallels our philosophy: Parents: Let Harvard Go. The article and the linked video respond to overstressed teens and parents. As the teen in the video says, "Parents, calm down." A student doesn't need 10 AP classes, or perfect test scores, or high-powered test prep, or scores of college applications, or 'elite' college acceptances, or college at all to have a great future ahead.
After Shorewood is simply another name for the committee of PTSA parents who volunteer for the scholarship/college/career website duties.
Our goal is to support our families in their quest to help their kids with their futures After Shorewood, whether they are college-bound, vocational-school bound, interested in military, or prefer to head straight into the workforce.
